Local expertise

We know your water.

Homes in New Providence and Berkeley Heights face two water challenges that wear out plumbing and appliances. We fix both.

  • High water pressurePressure can reach up to 150 PSI, stressing water heaters and fixtures. A pressure-reducing valve brings it down to a safe 50–60 PSI.
  • Hard waterCalcium and magnesium build up in fixtures, shower cartridges, water heaters, and valves. A whole-house conditioner or softener with filtration removes the minerals.

Our hometown

A history of plumbing, heating & public water.

New Providence grew from a rural settlement into a thriving suburban borough. Its plumbing, heating, and water systems tell the story.

    1700s

    Settled along the Passaic

English and Scottish settlers build farms and mills. The area, first called “Turkey,” is renamed New Providence after a church balcony collapses in 1759 with no injuries.

    1899

    A borough is born

Railroad-driven growth leads New Providence to incorporate as a borough, bringing civic investment in infrastructure.

    Early 1900s

    Public water arrives

Piped public water replaces wells and cisterns, improving health standards and making indoor plumbing possible.

    Mid-1900s

    Modern plumbing & sewers

Modern sewer systems spread, indoor plumbing becomes standard, and copper and galvanized steel replace earlier pipe.

    Then to now

    From coal to high efficiency

Wood and coal stoves give way to oil, then natural gas, and today to high-efficiency boilers and smart thermostatic controls.

    Today

    Precision plumbing

Hydro-jetting, power snakes, and camera inspections fix clogs and leaks with less disruption to your home.

Mr. Tankless is a proud member of the New Providence and surrounding communities, keeping local homes running smoothly.
